The name of this sparkling wine evokes the kind of rain that evaporates before making it to the ground. The rich colors come from grapes upcycled in 2021 from Chenoa’s family vineyard in Sonoma that were used for an apple and grape co-ferment. Organic gravenstein apple juice from Occidental, California was fermented for 10 days in a tank before moving into an open top fermenter with the fresh pressed Syrah skins and fermented Pinot Noir skins from the farm for 13 days. The juice and skins fermented together for an additional 4 days. This sparkling cider has notes of tart cherry, red currants and Jelly Belly’s with earthy undertones.

Candice Lin is an interdisciplinary artist who uses a range of materials – tea, cactus tinctures, fungi, dead bats – to re-purpose, re-formulate and pose questions about the colonial histories embedded in materials.

Ashanta Wines is a natural wine making project inspired by the resilience of vines impacted by the changing seasons, local fires, and floods that impact our ability to live, taste, and be joyous. Ashanta, meaning “thank you to the ancestors,” highlights organically and consciously farmed grapes, forages fruits found in unexpected spaces, and creates a beverage that feels familiar, natural, and reminds us of the wisdom of the earth.
